Eugen d’Albert , 1864 (Glasgow)‒1932 (Riga). Composer and pianist. Studied composition with Stainer, Prout, and Sullivan; piano with Richter and Liszt. Remembered for his concert career and for his six marriages. Composed piano pieces, operas, a symphony, two piano concertos, a violin concerto, chamber music and editions of Liszt and Beethoven—all generally forgotten today.
