Eduard Schütt , 1853/08/24 (Petersburg)‒1933/07/28 (near Merano). Pianist; pupil of Petersen and Stein, Petersburg Conservatory. Studied at Leipzig conservatory. 1881, succeeded Mottl as conductor of the Akademischer Wagnerverein in Vienna. He composed a successful comic opera Signor Formica (Vienna, 1892), a piano concerto, and other music but was best known as the composer of many popular, small piano-pieces.
